The Battle for Milkquarius!

I remember seeing this dairy-themed rock opera parody when it was first released in 2009 and features "White Gold" attempting to rescue his beloved from an evil megalomaniac with the help of the mythical Bovinia, all the while promoting milk's health benefits. It was originally created as part of a rather exuberant marketing campaign by the California dairy council and has a heavily pun-filled script that I found to be hilariously awful, if not quite awfully hilarious. Anyway, I can think of worse ways of spending 22 minutes.

Got wood!

I took a half day off work to load up two cords of wood, it took four hours to stack it all and by the time we were done my fingers were going numb from the cold. And yes, I still prefer this to living in Florida.

Yes, the holocaust *is* still taught in German schools

Not sure why I remembered this tonight, but some people in the USA believe that the holocaust is not taught in German schools out of misplaced political correctness. I don't remember who it was I was talking with, but it was being argued that children were no longer taught about it as it was too sensitive, too embarrassing of an issue, that it was being swept under the rug and was becoming a taboo topic not to be discussed.
