Review: Buster's Bistro Belgian pub / restaurant

(also posted on Yelp)

My family and I went here for a weekend lunch. The best chicken curry and chips (fries) I've had in twenty years, and a serious contender for the best I've ever had. Simply sublime. Alongside that, their selection of drinks is outstanding with lots of tasty European ciders 'n things, their "plain" food advertised as "children's food" like cheeseburgers and chicken tenders were really good, and their shawarma was also delicious. It has jumped to the top of our favorite places in the Sanford / Lake Mary area to go for a sit down meal.

What type of scones would you like?

A conversation I had with my wife not fifteen minutes ago.

Awesomewife: What type of scones would you like, fresh blueberries or mixed dried fruit?

Me: I don't know, you're asking me to choose between two of my favorite foods. Ok, blindfold me and I'll pick.

Ok. Right, now pick one of these.

But I can't see where they are to pick from.

They're in my hands, so pick one of them.

But I can't find your hands. I know what - flip a coin.

Ok, do you want heads or tails?

I don't know! Roll a D-20.

We're staying for Hurricane Irma

Today I spent hours cutting up 6'-by-8' wooden fences to make them fit and then set them up to cover the 4' tall windows on our back porch; with the wind expected to hit our house from that direction, those single-paned windows were the house's main structural weakness. Meanwhile Jen and the kids got a bunch of things ready indoors.
It's also worth noting that we have a cement brick house with almost all of the main windows rated to be able to cope with hurricane-force winds. Oh, and the roof was replaced this past March. So the house is in good shape.

So. I'm in Florida.

We found out yesterday afternoon that someone was living in our house in Sanford. We were planning to move back into it in two weeks, so this was news to us. After not being able to get ahold of the property manager who had been looking after our house for the past few years I called the local sheriff who sent out a deputy to investigate.

Plumbing sucketh, verily. (updated x2)

Just to mention it, plumbing sucks. Last night I discovered that there was a slow leak on the sprayer for our kitchen's sink - no idea how long it had been there but there was visible damage in the cabinet under the sink. The leak was happening because an o-ring was wearing out on the sprayer attached to the faucet/tap, so after dinner I went to Home Depot to get a new o-ring. While there I picked up a small box of multiple sizes, figuring it might save me a trip some other time.
