Three positive things, day thirty one

So the first positive thing is that I made it past thirty posts in this series! Woot!

The second positive thing was Kian saying "I have a blue dragon [stuffed animal]", or as he put it "I have boo gnah-gnee" :-D

The third positive thing was an extension of something that happened yesterday. While our friend came over yesterday to learn Drupal, she brough her son along to play with our kids. Along with playing with Lego 'n things, they spent some time playing a Wii game he brought with him - Just Dance 3. Today our kids asked if we'd be willing to get them the game as they really had a lot of fun, and it'd be another form of exercise. So tonight we picked it up and.. they spent half an hour before bed dancing along with some songs they knew! It was fun to see them get into it, and we all joined in for a little bit. What was even more surprising was our 8yo asking if he could play it as soon as he got up in the morning - I guess it's a hit!

Three positive things, day twenty six

That was a pretty good Sunday :)

The first positive thing was a trip to a playground that my wife found online. It was at a school in a town called New Boston and it was surprisingly well taken care of, and fun :) One problem we have with many of the schools in the Keene area is that they don't take care of their playgrounds, so it was nice to see one that was in good shape.

The second positive thing was seeing an absolutely huge Lego replica of the old Manchester Millyard at the See Science Center. I've seen some large creations built in Lego before, but this was the first time seeing something at such scale. It took its creators several years to build and is pretty amazing, if you're into that sort of thing.

The third thing was simply having a pleasant, relaxing day with my #awesomewife and wonderful children :)

Three positive things, day twenty four

(this is from Friday)

That was a fun day.

The first positive thing was that it was my extra day off as part of the 9/80 schedule we're doing at work, so that meant an extra family day. We spent the day at the Montshire museum, which is always fun. Then on the way home we found an ice cream stand which had a playground beside it - we didn't stay to let the kids play because they were exhausted and already falling asleep, and it was really hot out so we figured we'd save it for another day.

The second positive thing was receiving an unexpected email from someone about my work in the Drupal community. Not much to say about it, but it was cool to receive it.

The third positive thing was our eldest attending an event at the local library for teenage kids. It was organized by the library staff and they do various games 'n things with the kids in the library after it has been closed up for the night. They were going to be going from 6pm until midnight, but had a option for the kids to leave at 9 for anyone who needed to. They also had planned to have some authors speak with the group via Skype, but it seemed that was scheduled for the second half of the night, after we'd picked him up. The most exciting aspect of this was that a few days ago, while they were finishing up from a class at the library he asked if he'd be able to go to the event because a girl from the class was wondering if he'd be going - our baby's all gown up! He ended up having a great time.

Three positive things, day nineteen

The last day of the week, or the start of a new one - either which way, it was Sunday.

The first positive thing was getting out and playing at a local park with the kids in-between the morning's storms. The rain put a slight damper on our plans for the day, but it was over in about twenty minutes so we went back to another park a short time later.

The second positive thing was discovering that Gamestop had tied my purchase of the Diablo 3 expansion pack to my account in their system, so when I showed up at a store to ask what to do with a receipt that had its oh-so-important serial number erased due to store clerk error, the were able to say "did you check your digital locker" which was exactly where it was. Now #awesomewife can charge ahead and see what happens after she defeats Diablo.. again ;)

The third positive thing was planning to take a short vacation in a few weeks - should be lots of fun, and it'll be great to finally take one during the summer. I can't wait! :-)
