Three positive things, day sixty three

Tags:

Back on a normal schedule again, today was the first work day of my week, and Tuesday.

The first positive thing was something that happened with #awewsomewife when she took Aidan to his apple-picking job. There were so many apples on the ground that she went from walking around with Kian to helping Aidan pick apples. She also asked Kian to help, and he'd walk around, see an apple and then say "apple - peekabo, I found you!" I wish I could have seen it, but it was quite the story :)

The second positive thing was Liam and Kian doing their "I'm Batman!" / "I'm Groo!" duet at lunchtime - it helped perk the day's mood up a bit.

The third positive thing was.. being Tuesday - my ukulele class of course :) Tonight we focused a little bit on some tunes that the instructor's hoping to have us join him in playing at a local community event ran by a local church this weekend; I'm not sure we'll be going, but it was good practice.

Hello Friday!

The first positive thing was Aidan's first day at his first job. Yes, you read that right. The day before their mom took them to an orchard a few miles out the road. They got talking with the woman who runs the orchard when she jokingly mentioned that Aidan could come over to pick up all the apples off the ground before other people came to pick them, and he said "ok". So #awesomewife decided to use it as a learning exercise for him. Every weekday morning he has to show up at the orchard and pick up the fruit that has fallen since the previous evening, and he gets paid a few dollars for it. We're not making him cover the cost of the gas to 'n from the farm as it's only a few miles away, which is also part of why his mom agreed to it. We'll only do it for a week or two, because they were having enough difficulties juggling the week, but it's still working out to be a nice learning exercise for him.

The second positive thing was finishing a busy week at work.

The third positive thing was getting in some ukulele practice, and continuing to formulate a plan to teach the kids a tune.

Today was Tuesday so that meant..

The first positive thing was my weekly ukulele class. Yes, it was fun, yes, I learned some new things, yes, I need to practice more :)

The second positive thing was that my burns from the weekend are healing, and we used it as a learning exercise for the kids - i.e. always wear sunblock, otherwise you end up looking like Daddy.

The third positive thing was deciding what my first tune would be to each Aidan and Liam to play the ukulele. More on that later.

Tuesday is my ... Tuesday?

The first positive thing was starting to sit on an exercise ball instead of a chair to help with my posture. It went pretty well, except for when Kian went rolling off with it - I said something like "Kian, please put the ball back at my desk" to which he responded - "no, baby ball." :-D Well, I laughed anyway.

The second positive thing was Liam doing something around the kitchen counter - I forget what, that part doesn't matter. So he asked if we had Dunkin Donuts food, because he thought he smelled it. As he was standing right beside the garbage can his mom asked if that meant that the garbage smelled like Dunkin Donuts, to which I asked if that meant that Dunkin Donuts smelled like garbage? LOL. They laughed :)

The third positive thing was my weekly ukulele class, which is always a great time :)

That was a fairly average Saturday.

The first positive thing was receiving an awesome picture from my #awesomewife of the three kids playing at a park, which has become my new desktop picture.

The second positive thing was fixing a bunch more things in a Drupal plugin for interacting with Twitter; I'll be releasing the full update in a day or two.

The third positive thing was getting some ukulele practice time, and showing Kian how to strum :) He wanted to nuts just smacking the strings, but for a little bit I got him to strum gently. Tomorrow (Sunday) I'm going to spend some time with his brothers showing them a few bits that I've learned on it.
