Three positive things, day eleven

This was my second day in NYC.

The first positive thing was seeing some of my coworkers and people I've gotten to know in the Drupal community over the past few years. Not being able to see your coworkers in person can definitely be a disadvantage of working from home, so it's good to take these opportunities to meet up with them.

Three positive things, day twelve

After being in NYC for two days, it was time to go home.

The first positive thing was our luck with NYC traffic holding up and our drive home only taking 3 1/2 hours - no stops this time. We had some breakfast and were on the road by just after 8am, and made it home by a quarter to twelve. And I got to chat with my friend Matt for the whole drive. So lots of awesome there.

The second positive thing was Kian started doing the "Bob" part from Sandra Boynton's book "Fifteen Animals" to hilarious effect :-D I'll have to put together a video of it.

Three positive things, day thirteen

So today was the first day back to work after NYC Camp.

The first positive thing was sleep =) I got up a little early this morning to get everything ready for my day back to work, but was so exhausted after the weekend I went back to bed. What was rather wonderful was that my #awesomewife let me sleep in a bit, so I got an extra hour+ of sleep. And then at lunchtime I snook in another fifteen minute nap. After all that I was starting to feel normal again!

Three positive things, day sixteen

Today was a bit humdrum and certainly didn't live up to yesterday's excitement.

One positive thing was pulling my hair out wondering why something wasn't working correctly on a project that I was working, only to talk to a coworker and realized that no, the changes I thought were missing just hadn't been added in yet. In lay person's terms, think of it like I had looked at a bunch of decorated cakes but forgot that the cake *I* was doing hadn't been decorated yet. Duh. So yay, I wasn't going crazy ;-)

Three positive things, day eighteen

So, Saturday happened.

The first positive thing was watching the movie It Follows. It was surprisingly creepy and very well done for such a low budget movie. Definitely recommended, if you're into scary movies.

The second positive thing was discovering there's a huge Lego installation at a "children's" museum in Manchester - the rest of the gang went exploring and found it, so we'll have to go back again soon so I can see it too.

Three positive things, day nineteen

The last day of the week, or the start of a new one - either which way, it was Sunday.

The first positive thing was getting out and playing at a local park with the kids in-between the morning's storms. The rain put a slight damper on our plans for the day, but it was over in about twenty minutes so we went back to another park a short time later.

Three positive things, day twenty

So this should have gone out last night, because that was Monday night. Ah well.

The first positive thing was (finally) planning to visit The Big E this year. For those who haven't heard of it, it's a huge

The second positive thing was my wife's best friend visiting for a while.

The third positive thing was that I'm teaching my wife and her friend web development, and we finally got to the point of having Drupal installed. Having gotten to this step, we can start getting into some of the fun stuff next time.
